2009 Tahoe LTZ.
14,000 miles.
All stock.

There is a very pronounced "buzz" coming from in/under the dash during:
1. periods of high torque in first gear--stopped on a hill and using normal acceleration to pull away from a stop light.
2. periods when coming to a stop as the transmission shifts into first gear as the vehicle slows.

A search has produced nothing in the form of help.

Any "hints" would be appreciated as my dealer has not been able to stop the buzz.

Thanks!!

Is it whine coming over the speakers? Or is it more of a metal vibration buzz?

Steve--
It is not the speakers as the buzz occurs with the system on or off.
Definately not a whine.

It is more of an electrical or metal buzz/vibration.

I know before my Tahoe got destroyed, I had a rattle that came from the passenger side when the Tahoe was being "Stressed" engine wise, only when it was going slow. I usually noticed when it was in 2nd and driving slowly up a hill

Bend the transmission dipstick tube down and away from the bulkhead (firewall) - this is the most likely cause and fixes 80% or better of the dash rattles in these trucks.

I too have a dash rattle under the steering wheel but haven't looked into it.

Did you figure out what this was?

I am searching for a buzzand not a rattle.
I looked today and it is not the tranny dipstick tube. There is a lot of space between it and the firewall. I bent it a bit anyway--did not stop the buzz.

Thanks for the input, dm600.

Can you tell what side its coming from? I have a similar sound coming from what sounds like the passenger side firewall area. I hear the noise anytime I am accelerating while giving it 50% or more throttle. I will post up anything I come up with for a fix.

My best guess on the location is the center firewall area.
I know it is not from the driver's firewall area.

Thanks!
