That’s a lot of miles. Be prepared to start repairing that thing every 6 months. Trust me I’m doing that with mine now. 2015 with 160k. Everything starts to go. Lol

personally i would not.

2018 with 130k here and everything’s going to hell

Not saying I’ve got anything against a 2015.. nor 130-180k.. nor 15g price tag.. but those 3 things together? No.
Each and every time I read these remarks like this, I love love love my 2 GMT800's more and more.

as you should

If he would have said 2015 Tahoe with 180k for .. like 3 or 4 grand i would have said why you still typing, pay the man already lol

But for 15 that’s way too much of a gamble for my comfort level imo.

I would pass as well. I drove my 2011 66K relatively trouble free miles from 92K to 158K, then a lifter went out, and the trans was acting up, and the rear quarters had rust popping thru. One of those issues I would have happily fixed, two begrudgingly, three I traded that sucker in on my 2019 with 38K. ;)

The transmission is typically good for 150-160k & engine 180-190k. Trust me I owned Escalades and Tahoe’s since 1999. I have 125k now on my 2018 Escalade. I did the passenger side lifters 79k & driver side 108k with camshaft. I am changing my oil less the 4k now with oem filter. I will see what happens. When it happens I will change my engine & transmission. I keep the interior & body showroom. As long as it looks good I will fix what comes up. Once the truck is in an accident meaning more than bumpers it’s time to go.

From what I read on the forum and other places the good years for that bodystyle started at 2017 and then the ones with the 8 speed transmissions and covid years were ones to avoid. Our 2017 has been great.

For if it's worth getting with high miles figure out if the savings vs the added wear and use and closer to potential major repairs is worth it to you.

Ive owned 15,16,and 17...6.2 with 8 speed......we now own a 2018 Ecscalade ESV 10 speed....ONLY way to go. Presently at 96K runs like a sewing machine. Had perfect maintence and light use prior to us. Its had insane OCD maintenance since we bought it. Flawless. Rear ac evaporator had a leak and front condenser. Did the computer delete when first bought, now have all the parts for mechanical delete to be done soon. Its a must. I want it done on my terms not when it happens. Its going to happen. We are planning on 300K. Expecting a trans near 200K...although these 10 speeds are doing better than prior trans.
