OK so I've just finished replacing manifolds and crossover pipe and as it happens with trucks of advanced age, the next problem reared its ugly head. The steel cross beam between frame rails rusted through where the passenger side shock attaches so now my shock if flopping around and banging in to the underside of the truck when i hit bumps. Does anybody know if there's a weld in replacement for this part of the frame or is this a custom welding job? As always, and and all help is appreciated.

shit thats not good. might be able to order the crossmember through GM, if not junkyard your best bet.. just drill out all the rivets and put bolts in them or just really hack up something for the shock mount.. beats me. sorry

More like trucks from places where they use salt on the roads. Get creative and build your own. :D
