Brembo Brake Upgrade

The interesting thing is the 15 pages are identical to what you posted except for page 14 which I posted from the install instructions for my truck. Every other page is pretty much identical.

In the first paragraph of page 14 it says the performance brakes come without break wear sensors - that’s what the service tech told me originally. Just like it says in the install instructions.

Also if you look closely at the left edge of the text - my instructions have
@ 2026 even though my Tahoe is 2024.

Maybe the model year and truck model make the difference?

From my understanding both the RST trim and high country trims offer the Brembo package as a factory option when you buy the truck. I don’t see how they would be different?

The ONLY thing I can think of is that on an RST you can get the performance police package which you can’t get on the high country.

Either way I’m going to buy the brembo kit myself and figure it out; I’ll post back with any issues I run into.

Another interesting thing is that GM makes 2 Front Performance Brake kits.
The description sounds identical, 6 piston Brembo torch red etc.

The one kit is $2500 and when you pull it up on the GM site it says “does not fit 2024 Tahoe”.

The other is $2800 exactly same description and it says it “fits 2024 Tahoe”

I thought the RST comes with performance exhaust and performance brakes?
Isn’t that what makes it RST?

I did get 20% off a “winter sale” and some extra off with GM points and I ended up paying just over $2100

RST is the blacked out trim model. The Brembo's and air intake kit are add ons.

No, it does not show 100%. That percentage gradually decreases over time. Back when I bought my Yukon AT4, I took it a step further with the brake upgrade kit and went directly to Brembo. It wasn't offered at the time when I bought the truck, but at the same time, the factory Brembo kit was a bit too small for my taste. 3 months later I bought Brembo's 8-pot kit. Bigger rotors, bigger calipers. Mind you, I also had bigger wheels to accommodate that setup. The stock wheels can still fit (barely), but the center hub will need to be bored out slightly.

If you’re talking about the GM kits, both are compatible with 20” wheels.

Yes, Brembo makes kits that fit most wheels from 16” up.
Brembo has been making performance brakes for sports cars and trucks so they have options for most wheel sizes.

I think most newer trucks and sports cars have 20” wheels and up so for trucks that’s the market for GM performance kits.

As far as reading brake life, as I posted it is model specific and the 2021-2024 kit says the brake life indicator must be disabled. 2025 and later is a different kit that has the sensor to read brake life.

Both front and rear rotors are drilled. Except, the rear rotors remain the same size as the stock.

The only downside of my big brakes is that they work too good. Living in SoCal with traffic as it is, I'm afraid that when I slam on my brakes, I'd stop quicker than a tailgater could react. It's happened several times in the past, so I end up leaving a few car spaces ahead of me to avoid getting rear ended.

To be on the safe side, 22's would fit comfortably without any issue - provided you have enough offset to clear the calipers. Last year I tried putting my stock 20's back on, and there were only millimeters of space between the calipers and the wheel barrel. The problem with these Brembo 8-pot brakes is the center hub. The two-piece rotor hub is slightly larger than the OE, so you'd have to bore out your factory wheel a little to get them to fit or buy an aftermarket wheel like I did. Otherwise, it's a magnificent brake setup to have.

You guys with the big brake kits the barely clear the wheels I’d recommend using stud extenders when changing your wheel. Makes it easy so you don’t knock or scuff the wheels or calipers;
I use them in my car that has brembos and 20”
Wheel that barely clears.
