I know this has probably been reviewed a million times but i cant find a actual answer I'm looking to upgrade to some really good performance based rotors and pads I came across Power Slot but cant find a vendor I HAVE A 2002 2WD TAHOE .. any leads on something good besides wilwood , baer, and all others that cost 5k for front brakes lol

Rock Auto sells Power Stop kits.

I looked, and like Wade said, there are front and rear Power Stop kits that are pads and rotors and options for higher performance if it has PBR or Akebono calipers. If you want something like that it looks like it will require different calipers as well.

for any typical driving conditions you shouldn't need anything beyond something like centric/stop tech or powerstop oem style coated rotors with a slightly better biting pad. if you really feel the need to step above that stop tech or power stop rotors with a matching pad or just buy one of the kits. going above that is a bit of a waste unless you have made weight and power increases that make the stock brakes outclassed.

I have been using power stop Z36 for a few years on my 06 Tahoe , The stock brakes were really never enough stopping power for family travel or towing, They have saved my ass a few times were stock brakes would have failed.

I would do the 07 upgrade and convert to hydroboost. The hydroboost will nearly chuck you out the windshield.

If any one needs the Hydra boost setup I have it off a 04 Denali.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned replacing the hoses with braided steel. Those make a huge improvement in pedal feel and brake response.

I'd also recommend the '07+ upgrade using decent solid rotors such as Centric if OEM ones couldn't be found for a fair/good price. Aim for higher-performing pads rather than rotors. Next step would be hydraboost but that can be done down the road.

Slotted and/or cross drilled rotors are more for looks on daily street-driven full-size SUV. I'd pick slotted over drilled, but any of those eat up pads faster and increase dusting.

I had cryo-tempered slotted Stop Tech rotors with Hawk LTS pads. The rotors were a disappointment within the first 1,000 miles. It could've been the combination of that pad on that rotor, but I was done with them and looked forward to their replacement which finally happened a few months ago. I had all four stock rotors resurfaced (glad I kept them!) and got ACDelco ceramic pads front and rear. Fully flushed the fluid and gave 'em a rigorous bed-in and I'm totally satisfied. No squeals, no shakes and the total brake job was (IIRC) under $200. Braided lines wasn't in the time or money budget this time around since I'll need 6 lines. But they'll happen eventually.

Can you replace just the front with slotted discs or do you have to do the rear too?

I only have fronts..I wanna do rears for looks tho..I have 24s so u can see the disc easy

I am thinking about upgrading my brake on my 06 tahoe to the 2007 version my understanding is i need calipers , brackets , rotors and pads any thing else ?? have you done this ?

No that's it.i upgraded to performance pads an crossdrilled rotors.still need to get stainless hoses

Good advise on replacing the hoses i will most likely go stock i am going to take the easy route and just order the 07 caliper rotor pad kit from powerstop it also includes the brackets

I am not seeing where you say what size wheels you have on your vehicle now, but if I am not mistaken, you will need at least 17’s for the NNBS brake upgrade.
