Changed out all the metal brake lines on my 05 Denali. While doing this job I realized I no longer have anything that will do an automated ABS bleed.

I replaced all the lines and vacuum bled each corner and still had a mush pedal that would just sink to the floor. Doing some searching I found this scanner by Top Don. I'm not affiliated with this in any way shape or form, but it made this job a LOT easier. Scanner link on amazon

I did the automated bleed and then vacuum bled each corner again. I was able to get a marginal pedal, enough that I was comfortable starting to manually bleed. I had my wife helping me bleed and within 20 min we had all 4 corners done and a rock solid pedal.

Some tips for doing this job, make a diagram of what lines go where as you take the old rusted lines out. Cut the lines with side cutters and used a socket at the ABS module to prevent rounding the flare nuts off.

Hopefully this helps someone.

I can’t say about your scan tool but I use a Launch 431X +, when I do a bleed on the Yukon, mine is a 2008 it will use more than a quart of brake fluid as you abs check every wheel. Once this is done you have bled every cylinder? No need for more bleeding. The ABS bleed program has you pump the brakes as it functions. On mine it uses a bunch of fluid to do this but when done the system is clean.
