This weekend I am going to replace my blend door because the tab where the 2 springs connect to the other two flaps broke. Wondering do I really need to remove the dash? Can I just take off the bottom of the housing?

Yes, you HAVE to remove the dash. No there isn't any other way. Sorry.
Remember that the steering column must be removed in order to properly remove the dash without cracking it.

You can move that actuator by hand. You know which one it is right?Sucks now cause everything works except the torso vent ( correct name? )

The actuator or the door? I think its the actuator near the gas pedal.
How do u move it by hand??

I'm looking to replace my leaking heater core in my 2007 Tahoe. Dash is mostly apart but I'm not sure how to continue to remove the heater box for access to the heater core. Does anyone out there have instructions, a link, or video?I don't know how they make it so you dont have to take the dash off but after completing the job this weekend. I will say it wasn't that bad. Taking the dash off is pretty straight forward and nowhere near as bad as most vehicles. The airbox assy. removal is just as easy. I replaced the heater core and A/C evap (thanks amazon) just to be safe and the parts were cheap. Sucks now cause everything works except the torso vent ( correct name? )
