I'm wanting to paint all the chrome in this truck with black chrome maybe during the summer. I'll be trying out a rattle can from dupli-color. I've never taken on such a task so i was wondering if you guys can guide me with what prep work is needed so that my work last the longest possible without flaking.

I think i want to start off with the door handles first, then an eascalade roof rack. I think im gonna black out the grill and do black chrome on the headlights when i do a hid retrofit.

All help and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

Follow the directions to the letter including shaking the can and clearing the nozzle before spraying. Starting with something small is a good idea lots of bad stories about it being blotchy or runny but they probably tried too much at one time. I’m thinking of doing my wheels this spring

PREP PREP PREP as mentioned above. Top coat is the show coat, but underneath and how you clean, sand, grind, prime, wipe and wipe again. Slow and steady hand. Shake often. Keep a steady hand and distance away and avoid the urge to go heavy. 3-5 coats of light dustings and proper drying intervals are much better than 2 heavy coats that never cure properly.

We all want to rush the job. Take your time, start small and gain confidence moving forward.
Good luck.
