Volsnt best intake out there with the 4" collector and sealed airbox that bolts up to where OEM airbox is in the filter.

Glad to know your Volant pleases you :)

i love the design of the Volant too...its architecture makes a ton more sense than some of the other aftermarkets out there.

It would be interesting to see a side-by-side comparison.

im sure youve seen pictures of my volant (or if you didnt its in my album) but mine being TBI probably looks a bit different then yours. I really didnt notice anything about the mpg gain, but i dont fill up all the way every time either. When im in my truck, its full throttle or nothing. haha I couldnt even tell a diff in mpg with the fans either, and those 2 mods should put me about 3+ for sure. but beats meee.

your not kidding man. 3.73s,16inch rims, efans, volant intake, msd ignition, brand new tuneup with acdelco shit, new fuel filter, fully synthetic oil with mobil1 filter, injectors cleaned, brand new Ypipe with cat, brand new manifolds, brand new EGR and PCV valve and *** load more stuff all done in the last year and half and still getting terrible mileage. heavy foot i guess. I needa get a new O2 mines a little old. ill do it when i put in the headers. all the fluids have been changed as well including antifreeze. idkk ooh well, i didnt buy the truck to get good gas mileage... :Plugged: ahhaha

haha ya i know it may sound like i'm trying to contradict myself (want the truck but dont want the mpgs) but i'm just looking to pick up a few more mpgs. i avg 13mpg so getting up into the 15-18mpg range isnt too far off from me. even if i stay constant at 15mpg i'll be happy. that $10 or so more at fill up makes a diff even tho it doesnt sound like much.

the guys with the volant CAI how much did you get it for and from where? i know i will prolly end up paying $100+ but i want to find the best deal on one that i can

LoL I don't think it took that long..maybe 3-5 weeks if I recall. My debit card got charged Monday and I got the CAI on Wednesday, so I wasn't charged until it was shipped.

Alright... this is just my $.02 and no offense to anyone, but I think I only saw 1 person on here even CONSIDER tires (and it only had to do with tread pattern). When you're on something like a bicycle, do you notice a difference between your mountain bike running at 35PSI with knobby tires compared to your road bike running at 110PSI with 1/3-1/4 of the overall tire contact area??? I think you'll notice a huge difference.

My opinion... get yourself a high load range tire that is rated to run @ 65PSI and run your tires at that! I would keep your tires you have now as your off-road tires and what not. For the new tires though, if you're in a smaller town, not much freeway driving, etc... then go closer to stock size aka 245's or 265's... it will improve your acceleration and you won't have to use as much throttle to get going. If you're not super worried about top end freeway speeds then it won't hurt you. If you drive 60 miles on the freeway every day, then 265's or 285's or whatever you should be fine (too big and you get into the whole wind resistance factors again). As long as you don't go too much over stock size, then the size won't matter as much as air pressure.
