Best/Affordable Adjustable Hitch

Since my Tahoe is my tow rig for now and it sits pretty low I would like to finally invest in a good adjustable hitch so that I can raise the ball. I've seen hitches going for well over $300 and some just at $100. Does anyone have a favorite or tips on what to look for?

etrailer.com is a good resource. It’s going to depend on how much adjustment you want and how much you’re going to be towing. I like Reese or Curt stuff but that’s just me.

I have an Anderson Rapid hitch. Had it for 10 years, still looks great. Be sure to lock it on with a good pin lock. These are a hot ticket to get stolen....

I lock my mount to the truck and have a locking safety pin for the trailer when I’m towing and have to park it unattended.

One thing to make sure is that an adjustable hitch like that is designed to be inverted. Some are rated for drop only.

This is mine, used it for when we moved and no complaints. Looks good too! I have matching, locking dog bones and both size balls. Clevis came in handy when I needed to dead pull a vehicle with 4 flats. Bass Pro Shops carried the line as did Tractor Supply. Ratings vary based on position but if memory serves the other way is 5000 pounds which is the max for most of our trucks without a WD hitch anyway.

I could have 3 trailers for the cost of that thing. But dang do I want one! Maybe if that second stimulus check comes I can buy that and an angry rotrieler to guard it from getting stolen.

It's kinda hard to find if some of them are able to be used inverted or not. But some of them clearly look far to weak to be used inverted let alone as a drop hitch.

Fits my requirements.
-Aluminum bling bling
-Drop or raise
-Under the cost of a kidney
-Has more balls than I
-Shipping should be quick

Main downside is idk if its aluminum or chineseium.

Can't beat the price on the ones from the side of the highway! I've scooped up quite a few regular ball mounts in various drop sizes. Have given away more than I still have on hand. Saw a triple mount a few days ago but it was too sketchy to get. Same with an aluminum adjustable one a couple months ago.

Found mine on Ebay but by the time you buy all the stuff for it, that one you like is a better value, if not a better piece!

Went to Ace, Tractor supply, Lowes and Walmart to check out their options and it was piss poor. Only tractor supply had any sort of adjustable ball. It was from Reese and priced at $269. I guess that walmart online one wins the game for me.

If you get steel instead of aluminum, I’d pay for the B&W. It allows you to turn the piece with the hitch balls around and tuck it under the bumper when you’re not towing. I got a different brand and am currently looking to sell it because it sticks out so far when I’m not using it.

I do like that design but I hate when my pins get rusty or covered in crud. Plus I don't want it to get jacked so I always take the ball off and stow it in a box in the back along with my trailer pin adapter.
