the issues you guys have on your trucks?? these trucks lean but i got mine to 3/16 off from side to side doing the pass side at 2.75 inches drivers at 3 inches. I also have the trailing arm relocators and swaybar endlink relocators.

My compressor only kicks on when i have a bunch of people in the back and truck sits at 34.75 front and 34 7/8 rear and pass side rear is at 35.

i can put 4 people in back truck airs up and i drop the people off truck comes down to where it is now.

I cut off rear bumpstop brackets if i go 3 or more inches im just wondering if your guys rear brackets are cut off the frame??

by setting the air ride links different, i would thing that would make the rear end act funny, like 1 side stiffer than the other, would handling be affected if i don't have all the extra goodies like you have? because i would love the rear to be more level it drives me insane. but It doesnt bug me enough to install $1500 worth of stuff. haha.

I just don't think I'm going to cut the brackets off, Tony. I'm not willing to do that (and to have something welded back on when I trade the truck in). So, I'm finding the best set up with the brackets still intact.

Not yet. Need to do that. Can I do that by myself with a jack and hack saw? Or, do I need a lift to access the snubbers?

You only need a jack and hacksaw to cut the bumpstops. Put the jack on the frame then the bumpstops pop out by hand, cut with saw then reinstall. Extremely easy mod.

I cut them in half without even removing them. I may end up doing the full free travel mod. But, even just by cutting the bump stops it was a much softer ride in the rear. A notable difference for sure!

Excellent. Looks like I've got a little work to do under the truck.

When you say that the stops pop out by hand, do you mean that literally? I assumed they were bolted in place. Are they actually just wedged in place or something? Can I just pull them off by hand, or do I have to undo something?

Thanks!

Update

Hey all,

I finally had the time to mess with the Tahoe some last night. I jacked the truck up, pulled the autoride links, and pulled the Belltech bump stops. I cut the links to 2" (that's WITHOUT the caps -- so, I think that WITH the caps I'm @ 2-1/2" in total), and cut the bump stops (I'd say I cut 1/4" off the stops).

I've only driven a mile or so in this trim, but, man, what a difference. The compressor finally DIDN'T kick on in my driveway this morning, so the short ride to work was at the sitting, uninflated ride height. Now, the shocks actually feel like they're working properly, absorbing bumps, and smoothing out the ride.

I have to drive into Philly (where the streets are miserable) today, so that will be the ultimate test of the set up. But, man, it's so different already.

Assuming that these tweaks keep additional air out of the shocks and keep the bump stops further away from making contact, this will be the set up that I've always wanted. Assuming the ride doesn't change from here, I can say that this set up rides much better than stock.

I should have prompted my last post by saying, "Even though Tony told me to do it a month ago, I only just got around to doing this last night..."

Better? Haha You know I appreciate all of your help.

My situation is still a little different than yours, since I didn't get a good ride until cutting the autoride links quite short, and I also still have the rear spacers in. But, it's all good info that people can use.

Thanks again!

I know, I know. I didn't do any additional work or spend anymore money, though. Was able to do this in my driveway. But, with everyone's drop requirements/expectations being different, this thread was more about EXPLAINING the thoughts behind the theories, and not just saying "Do this."

Thanks for helping.
