Just got my custom PCM in the mail today from BBP. I can't wait to put this thing in! This is what I went with:

91 octane
75% tm reduction
standard shift firmness
and of course tuned to my other performance mods

Putting it in tomorrow and I found a shop with a dyno that's running a special, 2 pulls for $50. So im taking it there next week to see how much hp im running. :D

do a before and afrter...I heard though you need to do about 20 miles for computer to recognize the mods and make changes...so you'll need to drive it a bit in between pulls...be interesting to see changes...

Yeah I thought about doing this. I'd love to see how much of a difference it makes.

It takes much more than 20 miles for everything to be fully learned on the PCM. Remember the computer needs to make its own adjustments to the fuel and such that you are running. If anything, I would suggest going tomorrow, and getting your pulls done without the PCM, and go back again in a week or two after you have put some time in on the PCM.

Before tune: 226.6 HP, 297.3 ft-lbs

After tune: 261.7 HP, 378.3 ft-lbs

did you swap motors as well as a tune? I dont see you gaining 80 ft lbs from just a tune...it would be nice, but shit i swapped from a 5.3 to 6.0 and im sure i didnt even see that big of a gain..especially since you have a 5.7 vortec...people on 6.0s are seeing a max of about 40 tq with a tune from what Justin told me..

Alright, well il see if a can get a pull tomorrow or Wednesday and then again in a week. I'm not sure if they can do that, and if the deal will still be around for another week, but I hope so.

Who said 5.7 350?

That was a HT383E base line and then a 383 with a tune. No parts where changed from the base to the tuned numbers. After a few runs on the dyno and adding more and more fuel, that is what we came up with. But I guess I am not a great example of the 350 tunes....but a great example of what a tune can do for a motor.

that makes sense lol...i was gonna say those were rather impressive numbers for a 5.7...i was just judging by the truck in the sig...

but like I mentioned, definitly shows that tunes do work. Here is an interesting point...the base line was a hyper tech programmer. That versus a real tune is night and day.

The 383 was a direct swap but needed the tune to really bring it to life

I would be surprised if he said a number that low. I don't think there is enough variable driving to be done in 20 miles for learning.

especially for ecm to learn long term fuel trim as well as a real obII drive cycle takes at least two complete warm ups from cold start.....

Finally got this thing installed today, and all I can say is WOW. Truck runs like a champ. From the short 2 mile drive home I could just feel more power, and the better shifting. Also got an oil change, grease job, some air in the tires, etc.

Sorry I couldn't get the dyno results, honestly I just didn't have the $50 to spend on it, but there is DEFINITELY an improvement. :)
