I'm really close to buying the traditional. I just need to know if the traditional is worth it.

They can do all the same things with a traditional tune that they can do with a In-person tune. The only thing that is different is that there is no data-logging process so the tune is not as "truck specific".

It is WELL worth it! Especially if the xmas deal is still going on. The shifting is so much better, I can feel more power, and I haven't driven it enough but im sure im getting better gas mileage.

@blizz: I went with the traditional, since I don't have a working laptop at the moment. I really wish I could have went with the data logging tune since that would clearly give me a better tune, but im very satisfied with the traditional.

Ah ok....yeah it's a 96...well good, that pretty much makes my mind up for me. It's a bit cheaper too and I do have another ride to use while I send my core in.

If you do the inperson tune, you won't need to do the cable tune- Justin monitors all the data on the fly while you drive around.

Ok so I tried to see if the tune boosted my mpg, and it didn't, atleast not yet.

Before the tuned PCM I was burning a quarter tank for every hour while driving on the highway going 70-75. This was using 87 octane. Well, today I fueled up with some more 93 octane, and that same hour drive I burned almost exactly a quarter tank. No change at all.

Not sure why im not getting better mpg, but hopefully it changes...

Remember that the PCM is still learning. You need to get a few hundred miles in to really see the larger picture.

I saw an improvement when I was driving home from my tune session. It just happened to be about 300 miles.

I'm pissed that gas is going up again due to the damn analyst speculation, supposed falling stock piles, weakening dollar, and the oh so improvement in the economy.

Still loving the power it gave me, and the shifting is still great. Never saw an improvement in MPG for some reason though, which kinda sucks because that was one of the things I was looking forward to. But im replacing my O2 sensors and doing a bunch of other things such as a complete tune up, cleaning injectors/fuel system and a full fluid swap, so maybe it's not the tune's fault im getting worse MPG... we'll see.

Overall, I would still recommend this. :)

I got mine done in Dec in Charlotte and I drove 3 hrs each way to the meet and saw a gain of 2mpg on the drive back....stellar performance.
