Bad CD/DVD Drive 07 Tahoe

Hello,

New member here. I recently purchased an 07 Tahoe with NAV DVD and rear entertainment. I tried to watch a DVD and it ejected twice then the disc goes back in and says "reading disc" but does nothing. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I tried more than one DVD and a CD...same result.

Additionally could I buy an OEM NON NAV DVD head unit and just switch the DVD internals? Seems to be the cheapest route if it would work.

An 07 nav unit will cost about 400-500 I would just go ahead and switch it out. Better yet go aftermarket with the pioneer avic nav series or the kenwood DNX9980HD that uses Garmin.
