Hey all.
I am just bouncing around with the idea of doing a 4x4 swap. I have a 2006 yukon xl 6.0. Its currently awd. But I was wondering if anyone has converted it to 4x4? Would it be as simple as swapping a T case and putting manual hubs in? Would a transfer case from a suburban or tahoe just bolt it?

I would wager that there would have to be a computer update to let it know that it is now a legit 4x4 and not awd anymore. Otherwise, it may be looking for a driveshaft speed sensor that is no longer operating due to the front shaft not spinning all the time.
But yes, a transfer case and maybe even driveshafts ( don't know if the awd case is the same dimensions as the 4x4 case) from a Suburban is your best bet.

I believe you will need a non-AWD front differential as well.

Same hubs and Cv shafts.

The transfer case should be a direct physical fit.

Programming/control modules-that’s where you’ll need to do your homework.
