Hey guys

i am wondering if there is any way to change the length of time for your automatic headlights to turn on and off. as it is now, it takes 20 seconds to change.

so assuming that you go into a dark parking structure from daylight, it takes 20 seconds for your lights to turn on. i think that is waaaaay too long. there has go to be some way for the dealer to adjust these settings.

can anyone shed some light on this????

thanks
scott

20 seconds seems too long - mine activate almost immediatley just putting a sun shade in the window

is there a fuse or wire i can cut the AUTO headlight knob to a manual OFF position??

id like to turn on my parking and headlights manually as i please rather than have them turn on from the start.

How wouldn't want auto headlights? Unless they had some need to be stealthy. 6.2L didn't appear in Tahoe until 09'

mine takes around 20 seconds as well.. IIRC, i think it takes around 10-20 seconds for the photocell to open or close, thus turning on or off different lights.

I know on mine there's a dome override. Pushing it 4 times switches it from day to night lighting modes.

Mine is about 20 seconds. You don't want them too quick otherwise they'll go on anytime you slowly go under an overpass or shady area.

I never heard of adjusting the time.

The 6.2 originally was supposed to be released as an 09 body style, but was released early enough to make the 08 model year. I think thats where a lot of confusion comes from.

Didn't realize that they threw it in the 2wd models. I hate GM!!! Wish I had a 6.2L.
