Hi all. Quick question

In my 2002 LT. Is there a light for the ash try below the radio??

I could've sworn there was a light there once!

I can't seem to find the bulb. It's my change dish now and I wan to put led in there.

Let me know if you have one!

UPDATE:

Got to it by removing small filler pieces below OnStar or where your air bag on/off would be.

You remove tray and push bulb assembly up and out and the reach it with needle nose pliers. It has a projector type cover on it to direct light down and into the ash tray.

NEW QUESTION.

Is it always on when the head lights or auto head lights are on?

Thanks again.

Update: LED with Oem bulb "cover/projector" = fail. Using the led type above ^^ as this LED projects light straight out with a 120 degree spread. No good enough to get sufficient light into the change dish (I don't smk).

I put in regular 194 incandescent bulb. Good enough until I find a good LED with closer to 360 deg. spread.

By using a long shank small slot screw driver, angled needle nose pliers and some precision fumbling I was able to swap bulbs in about ten minutes each swap. Getting it out is easy peasy. Getting back is a trick.

Right on. Thanks for the reply. I did actually make the opening bigger.

I will probably suffer through the incandescent bulb until I find a nice directional one like those above. I can certainly see those being what I need.
