I need to replace the rear shocks on my 15 Yukon XL Denali. I'm looking at the Arnott 3066 and 3429. The only difference I can see is the 3066 is mono-tube and the 3429 is twin-tube. Has anyone used the 3429? What are the factory rear shocks, twin or mono? Or does the magneride even fall within those two categories?

Good question. Arnott's website shows the 3429 for GM "w/magnaride".

Did you see the price of the GM rear shocks? $393 on RockAuto. Good to see they are back in stock but DANG!

Ya, I see they are both for magneride, which I have and don't want anymore. I believe they both also have the sensor built in to stop the Service Suspension error message. I'm just not sure on any other difference. I emailed Arnott and their response was not informative at all. Yes, the $393 is crazy for something that does not last very long!

I believe the more expensive one uses an Eibach dampener and the other one does not.

I think you're right. Things may have changed, but about 10 years ago I worked in the auto manufacturing industry and we had so many problems with Eibach struts/shocks. About 25% would arrive with blown out seals. Again, that was a while ago, but I'm leaning towards the AS3429. They are not Eibach brand as far as I'm aware and they cost less.

Got the 3429’s in the mail. I’ll try and get them installed this weekend and report back. E9C8BC99-58CD-4058-BFA8-26EA45CD0164.jpeg
