My front diff is grinding at 20mph and lots of metal shavings came out when I drained the oil. What are all the parts that I need to buy to rebuilt the diff? I already removed the diff

Well, what is worn? Is it just the ring and pinion or are there any bad shims, bearings, sleeves, washers, axles, etc. as well?

Don't know I have not opened up the diff, I'll find out later on today once I open it.

Same here. The PO didn't notice the diff vent had fallen off the fender well, down underneath. It was sucking in sand water and road salt for years! I researched it, going reman vs rebuild DIY. Because the skill and tools required to set the preload and backlash are out of my league. Approx $1k for plug and play.

So I finally got to open the differential. It looks like the carrier case spider washers and thrust washers are bad (the gears looked good) and I could see where the carrier case was wearing down, that makes sense why I was seeing metal shavings on the oil.

FYI
The pics of the carrier case wearing down and the spider washers. You can see on the video how bad the washers are worn down.
