Hey folks I am wondering if anyone has upgraded their 2005 Yukon SLT / LT or Denali's fuel tank from the stock 26 gallons to the Yukon 2500 37 gallon tank? Since upgrading my 6.0 to a 6.7 (408 ci) I have lost about 1-2 mpg and want to increase my driving range...since I'm not going to go any slower the only other way I was going to extend my driving range was to install a bigger tank. Given that the difference between the 1500 and 2500 is in the suspension, brakes and engine (8.1) I was hoping this would be doable without major surgery. Any advice would be great thanks!

I wonder more about the wheel base length and having room to put the tank in a short wheel base vehicle. I would love to do this as well as it would be great for towing.

Really doubt it'd fit in a short wheel base (I know you said you have an XL), and I'm pretty damn sure the frame is thicker, or taller on the 2500.

I have a 2003 yukon denali xl and it has a 37 gallon tank in it so I imagine the swap is possible. Mine came factory with it.

Ok so while the 4L80e was being installed I snapped some pictures of the 26 gallon tank in my 2005 Yukon Denali XL. Have no idea how long or wide the 37 gallon tank is but it would be a pretty tight fit. Take a look

Not alot of room underneath...I am hoping the 36 gallon tank is a bit taller (thicker) then the 26...
