I just called ReadyLift to ask about their new 3” lift for magnetic ride 21-22 GM SUV’s. I asked if 18” wheels would work with the kit and he said they probably would. They just haven’t tested one with 18’s, only 20’s and larger. Does anyone on here have the 3” lift with 18’s?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

I will be. You could run 17’s no problem. I bet 16’s would clear the brakes too. Wheel diameter doesn’t really matter.

I was thinking the same. At least in this case, he didn’t say no, just that they hadn’t tested it, so I appreciated that at least.

Are you going to run the ReadyLift or the rough country. Last time I thought you were saying rough country?

I’ll run the one that is available for my vehicle. Otherwise the one that is available.

I was also looking at these two lifts but wanted 17 or 18’s. I’ve been trying to see why RC says requires 20”+ wheels

you may want to reconsider this comment, the increased angle of the upper arm could casuses issues witht eh barrel of the wheel contacting the arm at full lock...generally the front leg of the upper arm.

on my 17, with 2.5" the wheel barrel is very close, depending on your backspacing, the small diameter wheel may need a spacer to clear the arms.

I will run a factory gmc 18” AT4 wheel and a 1/4” spacer.

I’ve never seen anything that says it requires 20’s…..they just list 20’s as an example and since that is the smallest factory rim, you can see why.

Rough county list it on their 3.5” kit. This is from their website… @sanman28

No wonder…I was looking at the 2”. Either way it would only be a spacing issue. Not too concerned……and FWIW, RC has been wrong or misguided on nearly everything on these new SUV’s.

I totally agree. That’s exactly why I’m hoping to come across someone who has done the ready lift with 18 or 17 inch wheels. Would love real world confirmation cause it’s hard to trust what is being said.

Ultimately, I don’t want to be the Guinea pig…I’m going to let the dust settle. I don’t want to do the testing for these companies.

Haven’t you been saying @sanman28 that you were going to do the 3.5” RC lift? Why are you looking at the 2” kit?

Yes I’m doing the 3.5”. My expedition needed 3” to get the look and tire size I wanted….and this AT4 is no different. Who knows. I hate browsing on a phone. Either way I’m not worried. 1/4 or 1/2 spacer…no big deal. If not, I’ll go 20”…..just don’t want to.

agreed, it could be done with a spacer...just dont care for info being projected that someone may misinterpret...a factory BS wheel and XX" lift may not work. most think fender clearance until they install and have other issue.

always best to full cycle suspension and turn wheels fully while measuring.

I’m running a 3 inch lift but it’s a no name because I created it myself from parts I’ve shopped for on eBay. It’s been working well but at 70,000 miles my stock suspension is worn out and it’s time for an upgrade

Thanks. Hope so. Just dont want it to look too large or redneck. I am VERY disappointed that the factory GMC Sierra AT4 18" wheels have such an undesirable offset/backspace. I was going to use those, but im not going to f*ck with 1" spacers and all that crap.
