I'm looking for some guidance. I recently purchased a 2019 Tahoe Premier with 100K. I really like, but WOW, on the drive home from the dealer, boom, I hit some rough road and it rode crappie over the bumps and actually threw me around the truck a bit. I have an 2004 Tahoe and it is not natural to be that rough. I looked in the owners manual and see it has Magnetic Ride Control, which is supposed to be fully automatic. So my concern is to smooth out the ride. Apparently they are not adjustable, so is it Broken? I have no idiot lights on the dash, how can I diagnose the issue. I am going to put it up on s lift and inspect for any obvious issues and any aftermarket parts used. Any advise or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm old school, I am not a fan of all the fancy electrical accessories, but here I am!!..Thank in advance

Shocks and struts likely need replaced. Do the front coils while you're at it. I just did this to my 19 Denali at 100k and it rides as good (almost better?) than it did new. Buy oem from rockauto. That's the cheapest place I could find them without being knockoffs.

When Magneride shocks fail, they revert to a very stiff setting, almost locked, and the ride becomes very harsh. A quality bi-directional scanner can assess the shock's condition and determine if it has failed.

If you need to replace, check out RockAuto.com and GMPartsDirect.com, as they will have prices well below the Dealer.

I added a strutmasters magnetic ride set to my front back in March and the ride is nothing short of amazing. I bought the warranty which extends them by 4 years because I worried with the price being so good I wasn't sure how long they'd last.

My 17 Premier had the same issue. All 4 shocks were blown. My mechanic suggested replacing the mag ride suspension with Fox struts and shocks. The compressor is still hooked up so I don’t have any warnings.
So far so good. The ride is pretty good. It’s similar to the mag ride suspension when it worked.
I had an 06 Z71 before my 17, never had an issue with the 06.

I put it up on a lift today and found that the front struts were leaking, just like pwtr02ss mentioned above. Thanks for the information. My first step will be to go to Chevy Dealer and see what they are asking for OEM struts. Appreciate Carfan and Brian71 recommendations, I will check into both and let you guys know what I do...On a funny note, amazing how well it rode home after finding I may have to spend over a grand for a fix...lol. I'll do what I gotta,do...thanks again for the good scoop.

My 2015 Ltz Tahoe had the magnaride go bad. It’s crazy how stiff it got. I could not compress the rear shocks at all when I took them off. It was like they were stuck. I did Bilstien 5100s all around. My 04 Tahoe went 300k miles before it needed shocks. The new Tahoe didn’t make it over 100k so I went back with the traditional non magnaride shocks.
