I've seen posts in the "What have you done to your GMT900 today" thread and elsewhere of both. I like the lighted sill plates myself but find it hard to justify the expense to assuage my feelings!

possibly but I don't think they are that bright, most of them are made to go under the door sill, drill a hole and put them in on our trucks though we know they get filled with water so no telling how long they would last

Why can't they be installed into the bottom of the plastic door panel?

I suppose they could be at the right angle, I have looked at few before but didn't really have the bug to do it.

Of all places, Pep Boys has the logo lights......

But I am going to attach a 12 volt - weather resistant /12" LED strip at the bottom of my door panel , wires jumped off the panel red light lens. So they stay on as long as the door is open.

Some day.....

I think @Rocket Man did something similar with his back doors.

What panel red light lens?

My 2012 has no lights in the door panel.

My 2001 does, has a white/red lens on each door panel.

I will tap off the front door 'red-white' panel lights. I was surprised the rear doors have lenses that reflect only. ( I wonder where the wiring is for the middle dome lights...... probably too far away.

So, led's under the front doors only.

I don't think the 07-14 even have reflectors. Like I said above, my 2012 has no lights or reflectors on any of the door panels.

'07 and after, there is much more plastic than chrome on the exterior......

Big plastic parts are cheaper. But after 2014, GM went over the top for 'bling' on front ends, etc.
