Just picked up a 2011 Hoe. I am going to put on Black 22' slides with Cooper Zeon LTZ rubber.
The dealership was seriously talking me out of changing out the oem wheels.
He mentioned some crash test stuff ect.
Have any of you had any problems will 22' slides or other wheels?
I am concerned with strength, build quality ect.
I will be driving this rig 95% on road and 5% in the sand...
Any thoughts would be really appreciated.
Thx

Tell him to shut the f up with his "crash test" bs.
If you didn't know, a good 70% of car salesmen do not know what the hell they are talking about, they are just trying to make a sell.

Exactly. This is all you have to remind him of (or INFORM him of, since he doesn't seem to have a clue about the OEM wheels).

As far as crash tests etc, i think its a load of bull crap. But at the same time some tires perform noticeably better than others, and some people cheapen out on tires when they get big rims, and that is an issue since braking and grip will be affected.

I also think more expensive rims are built to a higher quality but its more of a fordge vs cast issue. But between cast aluminum wheels, its all the same, you paying for the quality of the finish.

THX everyone for chiming in. I went for the black 22 slides with Cooper LTZ rubber.
I wanted 24's but I tow a boat, drive off road a bit and drive in NYC where the roads are often worse than being offroad.
So Now I'm going to need a drop. I have no clue where to begin that process... I guess I'm off to search the forum...

Go to the street suspension area and/or send Norcal SS (aka Tony) a PM. He'll get you hooked up man.

WOW. Your dealership sucks and that guy doesn't know what he's talking about... both sizes 22s and 24s will look good on your ride for sure :)
