I did some leak prevention last year and things improved. However I got in the other day and found water dripping from my hood release lever. The only place I think it might be coming from is a cut in the door weatherstripping near the spotlight hole. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

Took a look at my door jamb/seal and that makes sense. A cut could definitely do it..
What's the spotlight hole look like?

I got a leak too, but it doesn't hit the hood release, just goes down the firewall I think, then under the driver carpet..

Water will find a way......I'd inspect the grommet and then seal it with some sort of sealant. You'd be amazed how little of a gap can let it through.

Also, pull the panel off and look for any witness marks of a water trail through dust, etc. It may lead you there

Upon closer inspection of the spotlight hole I see a problem. I'll seal this up better and cross my fingers.

Looks like simple HVAC foil tape. I use that in a lot of places and it will last as long as it isn't damaged or disturbed.

I use this too though in places that need something more durable:

Has a rubberized backing that sticks to just about anything. Sometimes I have to use some mild heat to get it to bond fully, but once it does, it won't come off. Cut to size and shape with scissors.

Face is aluminum and can be painted with proper paints.
