Im sorry for another componet/speaker thread, but im still un certain on which to go with. First off, i have a rockford fosgate power 1000 5 channel amp, 1 15" L7 wired to 1ohm. The other 4 channels put out about 110rms at 4ohm ( from what i remeber )each. For the first 6 months, i ran the stock bose till i blew out two of them. With lack of funds, i bought some really cheap componets/coaxials ( orion cobalt ). My wife gave me the ok for my birthday to buy some better door speakers. My budget is no more than 300 for both. I plan on running new speaker wire directly from the amp to speakers.

Now, which to go with? I've been thinking about a couple of different brands.

Rockford Fosgates Power series
Infinity Kappa's
Re Audio comps
Polk Db's

If there are any other, let me know. I've seen JL's, Boston Acoustics, Cadance. Just for info, I listen to a lot of rap, but listen to just about anything except country ( I leave that for the wife ).

you can save some money and go with the Rockford Fosgate Punch series and they will take the 110 watts and sound great or you can go with the Power series either way you will not be disappointed especially with some RF power :)

Im kinda leaning toward the RE comps or some Cadance. I hear people talk about how good these companys are, just not really known. Anyone running these and how do they like them, or have they heard them? Dont know of any shops around here that sell either of these brands so i can hear on person.

I have never heard them but the cadence with the perfrated steel crossovers look sick

Focal 165a1s or 165h for that price could be doable..

oh.. and.. stop asking your wife for permission on what you can buy you on your birthday.. :)

i got a guy i can link you up with tomorrow.. im paying $35 for Vibe Slicks right now.. so maybe we can get you some "Space" for your budget...

My boy is bringing some 6x9's to work tommorrow to see if i can get them to fit behind the stock speaker grill ( trying to stay hidden). If they fit with no clearance issues as far as the rear windows go and the grilles, I may go this route.

Damn, too bad those things are 2ohm, that way i can push more to them.

All right I think that i have finally narrowed it down to 4 solid choices.

CDT CL62pro http://www.cdtaudio.com/specpromo_cl62x.htm This is just a good deal i think,

Cadence ZRS-6k http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=161&idproduct=541,

Hertz ESK 165 http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm

VIBE space6 http://www.dvbcaraudio.co.uk/vibe-space-inch-3way-360w-p-4017.html

The only thing that sucks, is that i cant find any local dealers on any of these except the Hertz ( and the shop that i went to pushes the Hi energy line, or mille), which i would have to buy on ebay to keep within the budget. So i have no clue how they sound. Obviously, the rear doors will house some coaxial, either a 6.5 or 6x9 ( if i can fit and my boy forgot to bring them the other day to test fit)

did ed answer? cause the space are way outside the budget so if we can get them for his cost then i think cost alone should make those the killer..

MB quarts are *** now not german so they lose all credibility to me.. no offence to *** lines.. but when someone sells their name to a *** company.. its not to make things BETTER

Well, thanks to everyone who helped ( espically mob and wrench ) I ended up ordering the CDT cL62-prox kit ( 6.5" componets and free 6.5" coaxial and additional free tweeters ) Ordered them on thursday and should be here on monday. So today, i decided to go into work and take out the old wiring ( which was spliced into factory harness, and run new 12 guage to the doors and 16guage to the a-pillars for the tweets. Was able ot go and get some 12guage and 16 guage from a local shop near my job, and got http://www.stinger-aamp.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=301&CategoryID=8
As far as the rear doors go ( and with the connecters) what i did was took a grinder and notched the side of the connecter and slid the wire on the side . It worked really good to. Just put some felt tape on the side of the hole for the connecter so that it would schaffe the wire.

Had to take out the front seats and the center console, the b-pillars,a-pillars, door sill plates. Was a lot of work, so hopefully it is worth it. Ran two strands of 16 guage up each a-pillar and down into the door for the crossovers. Was thinking i was going to need 100 ft of wire, but really all i needed was 55 feet of 12guage and 20feet of 16.
