can suburban or XL electric running boards be trimmed down to fit a Yukon or Tahoe without issue?

Have a pic of one of those boards? If these are the boards I'm thinking of--yes. The brackets underneath are adjustable and the plastic end caps come off--so you can cut, adjust and reapply those plastic end caps.

Kind of hard to tell exactly from the pic. Looks to be some stainless trim along the sides of the running board? But...I'm pretty sure they can be trimmed to size.

I have a buddy who works at a dealer. Recently I looked at purchasing some electric steps. He mention to me that all the steps were the same. The end caps are removable and the boards can be cut down to the desired length.

I plan to go pick them up today. One sie is correct length, the other side is XL. I'll update on here to let everyone know if it works out. They are too good of a deal to pass up.

Upon further research, this may be more difficult than I expected.......

Has anyone added power steps when their Yukon did not come with them? I know I would need to add the button in the interior, but now I am reading they are controlled by the BCM?

I found the pair of power boards for only $350 for everything. I hope I can make these work without too much trouble.

I've never had a vehicle with power running boards, but I presume they are not button-operated and are activated by opening & closing of any door.

Couldn't you wire them to the switch that controls the dome light? So when the light goes on, they go down, when light goes off, they close. Easy in theory.
