Did you go anywhere else for pricing?

Yea, I figured other places would be about double. If it were me, I'd take them to small claims court and get my money back. You don't need a lawyer, ask for court costs, your money back, and if other places require more money now to fix their mistakes, costs for that as well.

That paint looks like garbage. If it is that bad this time, and the guy straight up said, "You get what you pay for." They're not going to fix it correct and you're just wasting your time and effort.

Is there a limitation on how long it’s been. The first paint job was about 5 months about. I was out of town for 3 months.

Did you immediately bring to their attention that the paint job is junk? I would assume as long as you file before the 1 year mark you're good. I can't think of anything that has a statute of limitations less than a year.

Man, some of y'all really need to find some connection to the nearest hood in your city. Always good paint and body folks with excellent pricing and work. Also look for high school and college vocational programs that are excellent options

You learned two valuable lessons in this ordeal, never ever go to one of these places again, as well as never buy a fairly new vehicle with RUST.
My professional opinion after 35+ years in Auto Body shop management and now retired, the pics I saw were of the worst for anyone to ever represent this type of repair. As schaeffer05 mentioned in earlier post, your wasting your time even going back for any corrections. You might check with your local SMALL CLAIMS COURT to see what the limits are for this $1800.00 repair

Good luck.

Basically what you have there is a thirty footer, it looks good from thirty feet. it will take about 4k to 5k to do the job right. also black shows the most imperfections. and what is the present value of the Vehicle. it may be close to being something you will just need to live with. good paint and body work isn't cheap, look at what takes to properly paint a 60's or 70's muscle car. well heck any car to look good is going to need good prep work. I feel for ya bro.

I had them email me some pictures before it went into paint. Before the first paint job

Why didn't they remove the flares!!

heck that costs time and time is money. but wait they took the time to tape up the trailer hitch draw bar, when all they had to do was to pull the pin. Oh and the guy doing the prep work, he's a $9.00 an hour specialist. next!!!

How long was the car in there the first time? that will tell us a lot. my guess is two days!!

Notice all the claddings/flares and bumper covers are all taped up for a one shot express, @ the factory those items are painted separately from the vehicle, since the flex agent has to be added to the base coat prior to clear coat. You get what you pay for.............bottom line. :2cents:

Looks as good as one could expect for a $1600 paint job. Especially for black paint and on such a large vehicle.
