Another distributor replacement

I am about to put in my 3rd distributor and button since december of 2017. I also put a set in last July. What could be the root cause of this recurring issue? It started running very rough today and throwing a code p0300. The last time it got to the point it wouldn't start. Cam sensor? Rotor? I am going to replace plugs and plug wires while I am in there since it is about time. It's getting to where I can almost set my clock by it lol. Thanks for any help.
