yeah it can be rewound to get more amperage. but you can try DCPOWER ALTERNATORS, MECHMAN ALTERNATORS. and there is a guy that is from somewhere in alabama, his company's name is EXCESSIVE AMPERAGE 13347129955. if you google all three, im sure one of them can help you

I went to a few local generator shops that can do alternators and they both gave me an estimate of around $400 to rebuild my alternator and upgrade some other stuff with it. and that would give it an output of 200 amps. so to answer you question, Yes and i would try local shops if you can.

search first, because I know soemtimes you can buy one ready to bolt on cheaper than building one. Excessive, Iraggi, but I prefer Powermaster myself.
You can order a ** Powermaster from Jegs.

They must be trying to pull a fast one on you.
I saw some on Ebay for my 07 the other day for less than than, high output and meant for very powerful systems.

We have a friend that works at an alternator shop, I can not for the life of me remember the name!! I will have to ask Justin but I know they have an online store, and you can get 250amp polished alternators for $300.

yeah, that IS the problem with higher output units in standard cases.

the 145 amp alternator (KG3) is one hell of a large alternator already though.

145 x 14.4 = 2 kilowatts.

it was out of warrenty so they were going to charge me the price of a new one to fix it. I needed one that same day so i just got a power master from summit that same day. (they are like 20 minutes away from my house) Havent had any problems with it. Then again i have not driven the truck in 4 ish months.

keep in mind that many of these ** alts require a higher idle engine speed to charge...thus possibly needing some pcm changes.

thanks for all the help guys. i may try excessive since im in alabama.

and eagle, give me some more info on this. i have been reading some stuff about it but dont really understand whats the difference in a standard case and i guess you would say modded one.

and i have heard ohio and iraqqi are good but if i could just get mine rebuilt i would do this but if its more than 300$ i will just buy a new one.
