Hi, i hope this is the right place for this. I have ran into a few problems with my yukon that i dont know how to fix myself and after some googling the problems i dont know quite where to go with my next step, on basically any of them. First i have had a nice running disagreement with the air conditioning on the vehicle, it all started last summer when the air conditioner line on top of the compressor sprang a leak, i replaced the line with a new one had the system pumped down and refilled, it never did get very cold and we added some oil and another can of r-134, then it worked pretty good but soon after it appeared to trip the overpressure valve and dump some of the refrigerant. This year i was messing with it and i first had it come on and start blowing cold, almost instantly frosted over one of the lines and the other one was hot as all get out. I have shorted out both of the high and low limit switches, hot wired the pump on to the connection above the pump and all i have learned is that the pump will kick on if hot wired and nothing else helps. I dont know where to go from here, any help would be appreciated.
Secondly my rear heated seats have almost never worked, possibly four or five times they have came on, i think the switches are bad but i dont even know how to get to them to check them. When they worked the lights came on to say hi and low but now none of them work. No clue on that problem.
Third i was wondering about the rust inhibitor paints that you can get, one of the guys at work suggested por 15, but the bodyshop owner that redid the body on my bmw when i bought it said that after a few years of having it pained on there the metal will rust through to the other side. I was wanting to paint it on the underside of both vehicles to stop them rusting so bad. The guy at work said you could paint it on after taking off all of the loose rust. I would like to know if or what experience any of you have had with them.
Thanks.

there is a chance you clogged the orifice tube. either from debris getting inside or perhaps freon with leak sealer in it. what you describe is an instant blockage of the tube and with the pump still running you will over-pressurize and blow the safety valve. after that you should really flush out the system replace the safety valve and orifice tube. when you hot wire it and it runs what switch or wire colors are you shorting out when it does. i need the year and trim option of vehicle to help further with that or the heated seated issues. remove any rust you can before using anything on it.

My suv is a 99 denali package. The only wire that you can short out and it work is the hot wire to the compressor clutch to the battery, I wanted to find out if the compressor clutch was bad. I dont really have too much knowledge or almost any experience with air conditioning aside from replacing a couple tractor pumps and putting on that hose on the suv. for all of the little problems i have had with my beemer since 07 the air has blown cold the whole time with no added refrigerant or other work. The heated seats i really think is related to the fact that i got it from a insurance auction in pheonix arizona, i have a good feeling that the heated seats had not been used in well over a few years.

just because they were not used in a long time means that that is why they do not function. print use the diagrams below to help out with your issues.

Try POR 15 to fix rust, then spray chassis/frame twice a year with Fluid Film.

thanks for all the help, i probably will take a bit to get all of this checked. I just got throught rebuilding the sunroof in my 318, dad has a 4010 jd to diagnose why its not running, a 4020 to to swap wheels and tires, a steering motor line to replace on a 4440, a whole bunch of rake teeth to replace, and three days of work this week. I will try to get back to you as fast as i can make some time.

Por15 is great stuff. You will never get it off your hands. I wire wheel the whole frame of my
Tahoe. Then 2 coats of por then i sprayed rustolems undercoat on top of that. No more rust has come through and I'm really happy with the result
