I'm going to pull the trigger on an alarm system in the next 2 days for my 2007 Yukon. I was initially looking at the viper smart start system (VSS5000) but after some review reading, it seems like no one is happy with it.

So my question is this...what alarm system would you guys recommend I go with?

What I would like:
  • Remote start
  • Some sort of paging system when the alarm goes off
  • Range of about 200 feet

The Viper VSS5000 system I was looking to get was going to run me ~$268 so I would like to keep the price in the same range.

Just think if it was your baby, what would you want in it.

Thanks guys!

quick question, you posted this as a 2011 Burb but in the pictures posted on the other site the bumper is a 2007 bumper. Just wondering why the discrepancy.

Have you looked into the 2-Way Advanced Remote Start Part #19157237 and the Vehicle Security Shock Sensor Package - Includes Sensor and Harness Part #17800431 it has everything you are looking for the shock sensor is adjustable? It works great for me.

I had not, I just looked at it and it states that its for 2008 and newer models. Do you think it would still work with a 2007?

Remember I have a 2007 Yukon. You can go to the dealer and get an item number and a price. Google the part number so you can find it cheaper. I have mine tied into my train horns so my alarm sounds like a train in the front yard.
