NO AC or Heat

I have a 2004 Yukon and I am having problem with regulating temp either in heat or ac mode. We have two HVAC dials on front dash that let you regulate temps separately for driver and passenger side. For about a week now it has been very difficult to regulate temp in vehicle. You are either burning up or freezing to death. I have read some of the other post, but still not sure what is causing my problem. I would like to fix it myself if I can before I go to the dealer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Update: Both AC and heat are not working now. The fan is blowing air, but output not cold or hot.

Thanks for the input.

Is this a DYI type problem or should I head to the repair shop?

Location
Redneck central, Aka Houston
Its completely DYI...
There is 2 part numbers for each, so pull them out, drive up to store, compare the two, buy, go home, install, done..

FYI take 300$ with you.
Or maybe our new vendor Rockauto will have them cheaper...

Have an update to my problem. Wife drove Yukon today and now HVAC is not cooling or heating. Does that mean I have a bigger problem than just blend door actuators??
