I have a slight pop when turning to the right now… I was told a few months ago my power steering pump is getting weak. Is it getting worse? My steering still feels pretty effortless. But definitely has a slight groan when turning. More noticeable at idle.

Is there any where i can look for worn or broken parts? I see the steering shaft here under the hood everything looks ok upon first glance

Also check the double ujoint where thr intermediate shaft meets the rack and pinion. If the boot is ripped open, they can get corroded. You can get new boots for it. I did it on my 2008 and lubed the heck out of it and exercised it when out of the truck. Maybe something to look at

They are a joy to do.....said no one ever. LOL

This guy has a good video I used to prepare so made it less painful. I also parked it on the ramp in front of my garage to get the front end down lower to reach into there. I used hammerhead wire cutters to gingerly pinch the new clamps shut.

Did you see how much play the drivers side of the rack had in that video? They are rubber bushing-ed but that seemed like alot of movement. I am talking about your diag video btw.
