A/C stopped working suddenly - any help?

Hello everyone,

I own a 01 Tahoe i’ve been putting back together the past few months. I stopped a few months back cause i nearly passed away in the hospital, but recovered and figured to start working on her again.

As of recent, the A/C completely stopped working just all of the sudden. Day before was working great, ice cold, next day it was just coming out ambient temp even with the button pushed in.

I’ve looked and checked the fuses but haven’t checked any wiring yet. The compressor clutch doesn’t do anything with the A/C on, no sounds, nothing at all. No relays or anything either from what i can hear but i’ve replaced the relays with ones that work and still absolutely nothing.

It has manual A/C, not auto. Any help?

One simple test you can do is tap the front of the compressor clutch with a hammer (while the AC switch is on) and see if the clutch engages.

Mine was doing this last summer periodically and I would have never thought to try this.
