99 hoe key fob

quick question on the keyless entry. I have keyless but no fob. I have contacted numerous people about purchasing one and every time its the same thing, "you have to go to the dealer and have them run the vin to get a correct part number" I think thats it cant be that damn hard to get a fob for this truck. oh and the stealership is being dicks about it and wont do it over the phone, so wtf? anyone have an extra lying around that would work and are willing to let it go for cheap?

might be gm 15725423 which is a 3 button remote typically $50 at dealer but that is for a '96. and they usually program it to vehicle for free or you can do it yourself with procedure. '99 may likely be different and therefore vin will determine vehicle build options to determine it. just take your vin number to the parts department. this one of those things that you really need to go down to them for.
