8.1 in an Avalanche. That plug was such a BEEATCH I ran it on 7 new plugs for a week, LOL.

I changd plugs at 75k miles on my Av ad it REALLY did smooth out the idle.

NEW to fourm what is the easiest way to remove #8 spark ? Thank

I found that this works reasonably well: Three - pieces - 3/8" wrench (pass thru design) with adapter and 5/8" deep well socket.

If you take a normal 5/8” spark plug socket, you’ll see the end can accommodate a regular socket. This combination is the exact right length.

I used an one inch extension i got from Ace hardware. It worked perfectly for number eight. I specifically bought it to do on all of my ls powered vehicles to get to that one.

Compared to the 4.3 on my 03 S10, i found the plugs on my 09 tahoe 5.3 easy!

on the S10, you need to remove the front wheels, and it's still a pita. :Big Laugh:

On my wife's car, one of the plugs i need to remove the alternator...

There was a late 50s Buick that to remove the left rear (#7?) you had to either remove the engine, or cut a hole through the inner fender.
