I know it’s kind of late since you already ordered the kit, but I just ordered parts for a 2/4 drop on my 08 Tahoe. For the rear, I just went with 4” drop springs and shock relocators. I recently installed new Arnott rear auto level shocks and a Dorman compressor and plan on keeping the auto level like I did on my 02 Denali. I will be shortening the ride height links so the system doesn’t try to raise the rear up, thinking I have a heavy load on the hitch. I did this on my 02 and it works awesome. For the front, I’m cheating for a 2” drop. I will be “flipping” the bottom of the struts to the bottom of the control arms and adding a small spacer meant for a 1/2” lift to the bottom instead off the top where it was designed to be installed. I will be using grade 10 bolts and nuts because now the struts ( and front of vehicle) will be hanging from the control arm instead of resting on top. The relocation to the bottom of the control arm will result in about a 1 1/2” drop and the spacer will add another 1/2”or so for a 2” drop. Some guys have used this method combined with either drop spindles or drop control arms for a 4” or more front drop. This is a budget build and this will cost me around $300 for the whole drop and there’s no need to remove ball joints or get an alignment when I’m done. I will be detailing it in my build thread for my bagged Silverado. Link https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/thr...lverado-build-aka-the-machine.100281/page-297
You guys are really trusting with that strut flip thing. I just cannot bring myself to do it

If it makes you feel any better. The express van comes with the struts on the bottom of the LCA. Probably similar to other HD trucks.

Anyone know or has done a 5/7 drop on a 07-14 Tahoe or Yukon I know it has to be a custom kit but the ones that have done it on social media don’t really like to share. If anyone has any suggestions or those that have achieved it please lmk I asked a guy on IG but he just sent me a pic of the kit laid out he didn’t really tell me what the kit consisted of so I can buy any help is appreciated. TIA

Despite what everyone who’s never done it has said, 5/7 drop is extremely simple aside from the c-notch part

Front there’s a ton of ways to achieve 5”

Belltech drop struts flipped to the bottom of the control arm with stock spring, DJM upper arms and drop spindles is what I did with zero issues with over 200k miles on the setup

Or you can get some DJM 3” drop arms if you want to waste money instead of flipping the strut on stock lowers

Rear
-C-10 6” rear drop springs
-Belltech 2410 rear shocks with 4” extenders
-Spohn panhard bar and adjustable trailing arms if you want the wheels perfectly centered forward and back
-C-notch

You don’t need to tub the rear unless you’re running a 10” wide wheel with a giant tire. chrome is a 28x10 +15 and it hit on the outside, not the inside. Also had 26’s with a 295/30/26 and it didn’t rub at all.

C-10 6" rear drop springs? 67-72?

Makes me feel better about it. I’ve had the hardware to do the flip for awhile but I’ve been a little nervous to do it. I’m currently on the 2/4 Belltech 753 kit. View attachment 455724

That doesn't look like a load bearing strut to me. Looks like the coils spring is sitting in a pocket in the LCA. @Tonyv__ do you have a top side pic of that?

Not on hand but you have a very valid point that I didn’t consider. The van definitely rest on the springs independently.

The shock is still load bearing because the spring is constantly putting downward pressure on the control arm, which the shock is bolted to

Wdym flip? You can flip the stock lowers?? I have a 2003 and I got torsion bars does your model have the torsion set up?
And for the rear I got cut springs, the 4 inch shock extenders with belltexh drop shocks, with all adjustable uppers n lowers and pan hard bar, and the shorter sway bar links from djm along with the lower relocation bracket. I’m gonna go lower but I’m gonna notch the rear like you posted a while back I don’t think the frames change Mitch at all from out generation.

The front suspension on the 00-06 is completely different from the 07-14’s, you need to be in the 00-06 section of the forum. Also please pre-read your auto-transcribed post before hitting the “post reply” or else go back and edit that horrible English, it hurts my old brain.
