That fix did not work for me. The ball that is connected to a little metal rod that fits in the hole no longer stayed in by itself. I enclosed a video to show a similar wire fix, but not the same that I used which is aviation safety wire. I put a second one for reinforcement.
Needed for repair. aviation safety wire or equivalent, Dykes, T20 Torx, needle nose plyers.
1) Raise up right side middle passenger Bench seat.
2) Take off finish panel 84710228 with two torx T20
3) Take off gray other panel that's towards the middle. It too is in the way. It snaps up from the back towards the front.
4) Locate left track, ball connected to a cable where it should go into a hole by the front of the left track. if its not in the hole bingo. Now take safety wire and get into hole where metal slug goes into, and tie to cable/metal slug make tight.
5) Try latch to see if it works
6) Perhaps a second safety wire for support.
7) Put back together
