26 suburban key card

What is this for?
Just to unlock the door or can you start it.

I have three remotes and I used the card to unlock the door and the car started saying it was driver number 3. But the remotes were inside.
I don’t know if I simply wasn’t far enough.

Waiting a response from the sales person. Window sticker didnt mention it, however it also doesnt mention getting two sets of key fobs. So i doubt its something they would put on the sticker.

I even looked at a $99k High Country window sticker, it didnt mention anything about a key card. This thing has every option available.

keycards are something new for 2026, you can get up to 8 per vehicle
so if it is used as a company vehicle up to 8 employee's can use the vehicle with just a keycard

Is it something that can be ordered or is it supposed to come with the vehicle?

I reached out to GM corporate and they keep telling me its only available on Cadillacs, even though there are multiple youtube videos of Tahoes using the key card

I don't know I would reach out to the local gm dealer (sales team), they get weekly, bi-weekly or monthly updates on what options are available
I would imagine it is a optional part.

or the parts department, they can you tell if a keycard is compatible based on your vin number
looks like the card is NFC based and the sensor is in the door handle

If you have a key card, you may be able to use an iPhone to unlock it from within the phone without using the app. It’s like a digital key.

you just tap it on the drivers door handle, get in, press and hold the brake pedal, start it, drive away.

My 2026 RST came with two fobs and a card. My last Tahoe (2022) did not have a card but did have a weird slot for a card to the left of the steering wheel. My 2026 does not have the same slot. Go figure haha ‍
