Please keep us posted on how the swap goes. I'd like the get the '25+ Denali tail lights for my truck and add the '25+ tailgate applique as well.
Will do, dropping off the part for paint on monday and then next week I will swap it out..I plan to make a video of it.

Hello new to group. I just received my panel and will be doing the swap..the painted part comes unattached so you can get it painted to match your car..thats the one part of the tahoe that is so ugly..
Did you get this installed yet?

Ran into a small issue..I didn't realize they also redesigned the rear camera and plate lights..so I ordered those..the panel does fit and work but need those last parts to complete.

Dang. I wondered about the camera. Thanks for the quick reply -- and good luck! Can't wait to see it all installed!

Yeah I dont know how I missed that!! Worst part is I could have ordered it long ago now I got to wait..other than that everything lines up and will snap right in.

I might have missed it, too. I take it that you use your existing camera, but that you have to get a new/different “housing” that it sits in in the new panel? Is that correct, or…?

The new camera comes with the housing, it was only 100 bucks and the license plate lights were 20 each.

That was a great video and your truck does look better, nice work!

Seems like a lot of work though.
Would you do it again if you knew how much work it takes and how much money it costs?

Well I knew the cost ahead of time. I loved the 21-24 tahoe but that rear design was so ugly to me. Once I saw the 2025 redesigned I liked it way better..wish they did the escalade one where its all painted..on the 2025 tahoe I wish the black part was painted to match body but its way better than old way..in hindsight I probably should have painted the black part white but it would have cost way more to prep it so it wouldn't peel later. Overall Im happy with the look, but yeah its a complete waste of money lol.

I did the chrome delete trim on the rear along with the black bow tie emblem.
The next move is to remove the chrome Tahoe emblem and replace with black.

I did passenger side logo removal and black replacement and it looks great but a lot more time getting the adhesive off.
Lettering was easy with fishing line!

@2022tahoez71matt Nice job and video! Gotta love all the little changes that GM does to make these retrofits just enough of a pain and expense to make you think twice. Was the Gen5DIY harness a custom build? Do you have any close up pics of it or an install video? Do the new taillights retain the factory animation behavior? On the camera, did the connector not match up or was there an issue with the vehicle communicating with it?

@KMeloney I've been looking into this for the 21-24 Yukons. The finish panel will fit. The camera housing also looks to be updated. The challenge for us will be the rear lights (both on the lift gate and body). I believe the rear liftgate lights are shaped slightly different to where our existing ones won't fit. They also have different wire connectors with three additional circuits per side related to a taillamp CAN bus and likely control the animation. The body side taillamps go from an 8 pin to 12 pin connector with three of those wires going to the liftgate light on that same side. May need to buy some parts and bench test.
