Thanks for that. Yeah, if I were to go with a similar panel-replacement situation on my Yukon, it would be to be able to change my tail lights to anything I wanted by eliminating the Yukon-style tailgate-mounted small tail lights with the use of a Chevy panel.@2022tahoez71matt Nice job and video! Gotta love all the little changes that GM does to make these retrofits just enough of a pain and expense to make you think twice. Was the Gen5DIY harness a custom build? Do you have any close up pics of it or an install video? Do the new taillights retain the factory animation behavior? On the camera, did the connector not match up or was there an issue with the vehicle communicating with it?
@KMeloney I've been looking into this for the 21-24 Yukons. The finish panel will fit. The camera housing also looks to be updated. The challenge for us will be the rear lights (both on the lift gate and body). I believe the rear liftgate lights are shaped slightly different to where our existing ones won't fit. They also have different wire connectors with three additional circuits per side related to a taillamp CAN bus and likely control the animation. The body side taillamps go from an 8 pin to 12 pin connector with three of those wires going to the liftgate light on that same side. May need to buy some parts and bench test.

...But it all seems like a LOT of work for not enough "gain."
