2025 tahoe Lift gate applique panel

was just about to post the same thing! Was trying to determine how involved before I start down that road

Mines black so the whole thing would be painted black. I assume you remove the interior lift gate panel and access it.

Yes mine is black as well. I just installed the 2025 full led taillights; and hopefully tackling this next. Right now I can’t find the part number, guessing that will be out soon.

Were the tail lights plug and play?

The fit is direct replacement , but a wiring harness is needed to bridge the new LED lights to existing vehicle harness. Gen5diy made it for me, and using that it basically made it plug n play. There is a video on the forum from someone else who did them. Took me about 30 minutes.

Hmmm. Unless it is stuck on with sticky tape, i dont see how it could be added. The newer models may have holes in the gates to allow mounting.

Yea I was hoping whatever the current chrome trim is attached with was the same for the newer panel; however, I suspect you are correct.

It is probably under the trim panel on the inside of the gate.

Haven’t done it, but… the exploded diagrams for the tailgate looks as though all of the various applications for both Yukons and Tahoes should be interchangeable across brands and model years.

I went to eBay and saved pics of the 23 and 25 liftgates and all holes are the same I will be ordering the appliqué in next few months

Hello new to group. I just received my panel and will be doing the swap..the painted part comes unattached so you can get it painted to match your car..thats the one part of the tahoe that is so ugly..

I have a 2026 with that black piece. IMO I wouldn’t do this swap because even though it may look subjectively better that piece looks like it will easily scratch over time….

Well I will be saving my old part but I keep my cars in great condition so Im not too worried about it..but yeah the gloss black isnt the best choice..would have been better to have just color matched it to the paint like the escalade..

seeing the bottom piece needs to be painted a good painter can lay the paint unlike the way factory does

Please keep us posted on how the swap goes. I'd like the get the '25+ Denali tail lights for my truck and add the '25+ tailgate applique as well.
