Well, it's been nearly 3 months on the sway bars, so I messaged CSPRacing again and this time they came back with another 2 month extension saying that it won't ship until February. I cancelled the order. It's already been way to long, when it said the bars were in stock at the time of ordering. Now I hunt for Hellwigs! Anyone have any input on those?

Well, as a little change of plans. I noticed a little bit of a belt chirp when I start the Yukon while cold, which I'm sure is the alternator pulley and\or the tensioner. I looked it up and a new pulley was ~$60 plus shipping...I didn't search very hard, there might be cheaper options out there. During that search, I found out that there is a bolt in 220a alternator from the 2500HD...part number 84143541. I currently have a 150a, so this would be a significant jump. I found one on eBay for $120 that was brand new, but the tip of the connector is broke. I figured I'd give it a shot, so it gets here on Monday. My son and I have already done the Big 3+, and I have a 250a weather proof megafuse holder on the way (I'll be bypassing the factory 175a fuse).

More good news, the color correct HUD Duct got here. Now I just need to find time between all the the Christmas band concerts to install it. Picture! 1000003634.jpg

Another project in the books, a 220a alternator upgrade, for less than $200. I stumbled onto a 220a 84143541 alternator, that bolts right in place of the stock 150a. It was significantly marked down because the connector had been broken on the voltage regulator. I went ahead and bought it, with plans to replace the broken plastic somehow, but when I received it I found this:
1000003655.jpg
1000003656.jpg
Slightly disheartening, but also familiar looking. Turns out this alternator has the same regulator as the stock 150a...as well as some of the plastic pieces, so I swapped them over. There was one connection to solder, but it works great! Sadly I didn't get any pictures of it, but you can see the normal connector in the finished picture. Since the stock fuse is only 175a, I needed to install a larger fuse and charge wire for the alternator. My son and I had previously done the Big 3 upgrade on this with 1\0 gauge wire, so I picked up a 250a Megafuse, designed a mount to clamp the fuse to a cross brace...and then realized I don't have any TPU filament to 3d Print it with. I went ahead and used PETG, I'll reprint it when I get some TPU. Once I knew where to mount the fuse, we just had to make a new wire to run to the fuse bank\terminal\distribution block thingy. Came out pretty good:

We also have the next few weeks off, so I picked up a reverse leveling kit to lower the rear end a few inches. More pics of that, soon!

I went on quite the scenic road trip to Springdale, AR with my son today to pick up a Borla exhaust for $400. Yukon did great, and never skipped a beat. Average was 21 MPG for the trip and I wasn't driving with MPG in mind, so I can't complain. It was foggy and even more of the wonderful curvy roads of Arkansas, but we still made good time at 3 hours each way. I hope we can knock out the lowering kit and the exhaust all in one project tomorrow...weather permitting. If not, it should be this weekend.

Exhaust looks to be in great shape. Seller said that his uncle bought it for his Denali because his Grandson liked it, but then he sold the Denali shortly there after. I did a bit of polishing on the tips, but that's all I've done so far Pics!

Well, Borla is installed. It took a bit of welding since I have the 5.3L and the catback was for the 6.2L, but it wasn't too bad. Sounds great! A little louder than I expected, but I'm already used to it. I definitely know when a downshift happens. I'm in the midst of finetuning the fuse holder, but weather hit before I could test fit it again. Currently 16*F with a wind chill of 1*F. On top of that, my wife has been sick, kids are home, (insert excuse for laziness here), etc. Not sure what is next at this point, I'll continue hunting for deals on sway bars and Escalade mirrors, that's about it. Here's a pic and quick vid of the exhaust:

Well, after almost 2 weeks of waiting, my son and I drove up to Olathe Kansas to pick up some Eibach sway bars. The trip went great, we averaged 25.3 MPG on the way there since the wind was at out back...and 19 MPG on the way back since we were driving into the wind. I changed the transmission setting to 125% on the Diablo II, and that seems to be the sweet spot. We installed the rear bar today, using Moog's sizing chart the 31.75mm K7236 bushings fit the Eibach sway bar perfectly. There was a pretty big hiccup on the install though. One of the stock bushing bolts snapped, and I'll try to look at the bright side....I got to show my son the importance of drilling the hole in the center of the bolt, since I missed it entirely...
PXL_20250202_213800348.jpg
We chased what was left of the threads along with the other three holes, and replaced all four bolts. The ovaled hole's threads were too FUBAR'd to hold any kind of torque, so we ended up using a nut on the top side of the flange. Everything else bolted right in, and he was able to learn about greasing fittings, bushings, etc.

We have a specific curvy road that we have been using as a baseline and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. We only have the rear bar installed since I still need to source a set of bushings for the front, but WOW. Other than that, I emptied my catchcan. Thanks to winter months and short drives, it was full (10 oz) in 1800 miles vs 2 oz in 2915 miles during the warmer months. Also, my cheap Chinese headlights have moisture in them already so I found a set of used Morimoto headlights on eBay and ordered them. We are both pretty excited for those.

Well, good news and bad news. The eBay seller cancelled the sale of the headlights with no reason, so I'm back to deciding what I want to do on headlights. Good news is that I ordered the front hardware kit for the front sway bar for Eibach, so that'll at least get installed.

The moisture in the passenger side headlight must has been a fluke, or reseating the caps seems to have fixed it. Either way, I decided to go HID in the projectors, and ordered some H11 6000k bulbs and a relay harness. I already had some Hylux 35w ballasts, so this was actually a pretty cheap upgrade. Everything went smooth, I was able to hide the harness and ballasts under the core support's cover. Came out pretty clean! I haven't seen them at night, but just comparing one side to the other during the day showed a pretty good difference from the LED. Here's some pics:

Driver side:

Passenger side. A little tight, but I can still access the adjuster if needed:

Once the weather cooperates I'll be installing that Eibach front sway bar. I do have the bushings, end links, etc. All I need is a nice day.

I was finally able to install that front Eibach bar and Moog end links with my son today. The weather was so nice I couldn't pass it up, and he has a Jazz competition tomorrow that is an hour away so we can feel the difference on the way. Everything went extremely smooth, I soaked everything in PB Blaster about an hour beforehand so I bet that helped. Here's a few pics of the project. Comparison of the stock bar, sorry for the bad quality:
PXL_20250228_232103090.jpg
Here's the driver side link and the bar itself installed:

PXL_20250301_001517778.jpg
We will see how well their grease holds up, I might end up buying some bushing brackets with grease zerks on them. Also, the driver side HID bulb isn't clocked correctly so a replacement is on the way. I'll snag some output pics after that gets fixed.

Fun stuff is coming. I ordered 2 Android based head rest tablets...well kind of tablet. They support screen mirroring (to each other and from my phone), and HDMI input so I'll be mounting an HDMI input, and USB-C charger into the center console. I want to make sure we like the monitors as much as I think we will so I'm holding off on all the permanent changes for a few weeks, but the monitors will be here on Saturday. Should be cool to be able to play the Switch, Ally (EMULATION OF EVERYTHING), watch movies, and eventually stream Plex. I have a 158TB UnRAID server at home....but I don't have Fiber in my area yet so I don't have the upload bandwidth to stream Plex. It's so nice living in such a small town...

Somewhat productive day. Well, I guess it started last night. My son and I drained the coolant from the petcock, disconnected the heater core hoses and vacuumed out everything we could from the heater core, engine, etc. We still only managed to get about 2.5 gallons out. Because of that, we ended up flushing it 6 times total. Once with a flush, 5 times with distilled water. It took awhile, because we'd run it to 208+F for 10-20 min each flush, then let it cool off. After the last flush, the shop vac was full of clear water. No sludge out of any of the flushes, but it's nice to know it's clean, get the maintenance done, and show the kiddo how to do it himself. Not much to picture there. These are the heater core lines I disconnected, then vacuumed through both hoses and attached scrap hose to the engine side and vacuumed that, too:
PXL_20250308_031256796.jpg
After the final flush, adding coolant as it's running:
PXL_20250308_235517014.jpg
Before reinstalling the intake (after all the coolant spilling was done), my son took over and changed the tensioner and serpentine belt. He looked up the torque specs, set the torque wrench, everything. Yes, he released the tension on the torque wrench after he was done. Anyways, super proud. I did nothing except answer questions:
PXL_20250308_235451907.jpg
Also, these arrived. Here's a test fit for a functionality test which it seems to have passed. I had to order some 90* HDMI connectors, an HDMI splitter, a 100W PD charger, and a few passthroughs, but the hopes are to have one single USB-C cable charge and provide HDMI to a Switch, ROG Ally, Laptop, ETC. They have the features of tablets on their own, as well:
PXL_20250308_204614179.jpg
More to come on this, of course!

Well progress on everything, but no pics (yet). As far as the in car entertainment, these screens won't work. The aspect ratio is wrong, so everything is oval instead of being round. The resolution is 1920x1080, but realistically it should have been 1920x1280 or something like that. I ordered a different set that should be here today, here's hoping. I did disassemble the seats a bit and run the power\HDMI through them, along with a lot of work in the console itself. Mainly to test out the functionality of it all. It all works like it should, with the exception of the USB-C dock. It works fine for the ROG Ally, but not the Switch. I guess there is only one dock that works with the Ally\Legion\Steam Deck and the Switch. It should be delivered today, too.

I did order a different set of headrest screens that are actually bigger, but I think they'll have the right aspect ratio. The current screens are 13.5", new ones are 15.6". Once I confirm everything works as it should, I'll be "permanently" installing the 100W PD charger, screen's power, the dock, USB-C passthrough, all that fun stuff.

About another topic. End of last week, a clunk started showing up when I slowly rolled down a curb\ramp\etc. at an angle. My son and daughter both hung their heads out the window and said it came from the front, and it sounded like it came from the front inside the cab. Since the last thing we did was the front sway bar, we started looking at end links. With Moog front end links, there are quite a few different installation instructions out there, some with torque specs, some without. We tried all of them to no avail. Fed up, I jacked up the front driver side and showed my son how to check suspension stuff. I have a little bit (1\8" or so) of play in the wheel bearing, or at 9:6 and 3:9. So I ordered new hub assemblies. Last night I went for a drive and could not accept that it was a bearing. I've dealt with too many hub assemblies, I know what they sound like.

When I got home from that drive I popped the hood and rocked the Yukon back and forth. HARD. Previously when I did that, there was no noise...but I wasn't rocking it that hard. It took both my son and my wife rocking it back and forth to get it make the noise while I was under it. Turns out it was the damned rear sway bar end link. When we installed them, I Googled the torque spec and numerous results gave me 17 ft lbs. I checked the service manual and it's actually 48 ft Lb.s +40*. Quite the difference, and made the clunk go away. You know that Abraham Lincoln quote, "Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's true."? He was right.

Just to end this out, I ordered a magnetic drain bolt for the oil change my son will be doing (on his own) tonight or tomorrow...This is the fanciest damned oil plug I have ever seen. I halfway want to throw this thing on a CMM and measure it at work to see how accurate it was machined to.
PXL_20250312_151239223~2.jpgPXL_20250312_151252873~2.jpg
I'll be getting pics of the actual (and hopefully final) install for the screens as they happen, just wanted to update the thread.

The new screens are the right size! While they are 2 inches bigger, they are signicantly wider, so they don't look all that much bigger. I didn't snag the best pics of the problem the old ones had, but you can see it here:

Vs. New:
PXL_20250312_213620650.jpg
As with a lot of projects, this is not going as planned. Due to USB-C's design, a female to female USB-C adapter that works with power and data can't exist. Long story, I'll blame witchcraft. So that means I'll have a USB-C power port in place of the cigarette lighter, and an HDMI port under the HVAC controls. I used a stepper bit and a Dremel to finish things off. I opt'd for JB weld instead of mounting screws, this composite trim panel stuff chips and cracks very easily when drilling. I think it came out pretty good:

PXL_20250313_024217752.jpg
PXL_20250313_024144106.jpg
Only limited to 5 pictures per post, but all I'm waiting on now is the USB-C charger and a +12V to USB 2.0 power adapter for the HDMI splitter. After that, I hope to be done!

Sorry for the late update. 2019+ Silverado front brakes (2021+ Tahoe\Yukon) install was a success! Didn't snap any pictures of the install unfortunately, but I did one side and my son did the other. We changed out the calipers, rotors, pads, went to stainless steel lines, and bled them. We were able to pull it off with no wheel spacers, but it's close...really close. Let me tell you, these are the front brakes these trucks should have come with. They work GREAT. It's not super touchy, so I won't be picking teeth out of the steering wheel; it's just got a lot more stopping power. I'd very highly recommend this upgrade, especially because I'm ~$360 into it.

Also, I heard back about the Hotchkis sway bar set. I ordered them on 9\16, and they are supposed to ship 12\2 through 12\16. Yay. Sure would be nice if their website said something like that. That install is going to be cold. Going to have to make my son do most of that one. It's good for the kid to freeze his ass off, right?

Anyway, here's a few pictures of the brake setup installed.
It's a little close to the wheel...

Stainless brake lines!

They still look small...maybe a little bigger. By the time these wear out I'm hoping the PPV 21+ Tahoe will be more readily available so I can upgrade (again) to the 6 piston\16 inch rotors.

i tried to install these on my 2015 suburban, even uses spacer washers on the calipers, but still hit my wheels? could it be the rims? even shaved the calipers, maybe they need more? any suggestion's?

Depending on the offset of your wheels, you might need some small wheel spacers. I know normally people use them, I was just able to get away without using them.

Which headrest mounts did you use?

What wheels are you running? Aftermarket snowflakes or refinished factory snowflakes?
They are aftermarket, I believe. I bought the Yukon with them on there. I'll have a build list link at the bottom of this post.

Looks like the headrests are done! I ended up modifying my wireless charger's add-on harness to provide power to the monitors, HDMI splitter, and the wireless charger, then ran that add-on harness to the cigarette lighter in the center console. That way the 83w USBC charger would be on it's own 10a circuit, while the monitors\etc would be on another circuit. This also limited the amount of modification I had to do to the Yukon's console harness....I cut 2 wires, and that's it. I had to snip off the old cig lighter connector off of the plug that was on the rear of the center console, and crimp on some spade connectors. Pics:

Changed out the hub assemblies over the weekend. My wife helped with it, my son wasn't in a wrenching mood, and she actually likes this stuff from time to time. Anyways, everything went VERY well, not a single hiccup. I did rent the slide hammer with the axle pulling attachment just in case, but it never got opened. Needless to say, I wanted it to be just as easy if\when I have to pull them out again (Cue Anti-Seize):

My car port is at a significant angle, so I had to do these on the side of the my street. Luckily the entire project took only a few hours, very little of that was I actually out in the street. Changing the hubs made a bigger difference than I thought it would. The old ones were worn, but far from the worst I have ever worked on. These new hubs are quieter, and less rolling resistance. Going to Springfield (about an hour away) I actually gained 1.3 MPG. Not sure if it's from the hubs or a coincidence, but I won't complain. Also, I bought some Diode Dynamics SS3 Fog Lights off of @CMoore711, pretty excited about them. Going on a little road trip to OK on Friday, between that and when they arrive, they MIGHT get installed this weekend

Fogs Lights got here very quickly, so I decided to go ahead and install them with my son last night. We put the front end up on ramps so we'd have more room, but it's still an awkward angle. Overall it wasn't hard at all, but his arm kept falling asleep so it was funny. They came out GREAT. I had to aim them down quite a bit after the install, but I might bring them back up a bit. I've never had fog lights this bright so I don't want to blind people if I can avoid it. Finding flat ground for 25 feet in my area is quite the challenge, as well. Anyways, pics!
