2018 Yukon XL SLT - Cold Air Intake

Hi All,

This is my first time posting. I'm in California and I cannot find a CAI for my car that is CARB Legal. I can find it online but no place will ship it to CA unfortunately. But my question is if a CAI is installed on my SUV without the CARB legal badge will my ride throw any codes or will the MAF burn out any quicker?

autozone probably has one sitting on the shelf at your local store or they will ship to home.
It's true a lot of places will not ship them here even if it is carb compliant
the work around is to have it shipped to a friend or relative and then have them ship it to you.
any half way decent 4x4 or performance shop or store will have options as well.

mine is not carb legal, but it only takes 10 minutes to remove it and put the stock one back on for smog check then I can put it back on every 2 years, not a big deal.
carb is just a money grab.....by the state.

yeah. that's what I was thinking. have it shipped to a friend out of state, then have it shipped to me. didn't want to purchase it, i install then it throws some code.

i can easily reinstall the OEM filter when it's time for smog.

If your ride is 5.3 and you are interested in a Volant CAI, I have what you need. I ran it on my Tahoe for 2 years. New clear cover cores with it. Hit me up!

as long as it is designed for the vehicle, it should never throw a code. That being said one for 5.3 and one for 6.2 may vary a smidge, just get the correct one and you should be fine
I can't recommend any that take a oiled filter, use one with a dry filter. the oiled ones can gum up the maf IF they are over oiled.

denalis are 6.2 for all k2's, some of the T2's may be diesel or 6.2

I missed the part where it was Denali, all I saw was SLT.

I did find some specifically for the 5.3 so i'll be seeing what is out there.
