When I first start my 2017 suburban it has like a squeal sound, like I guess the starter is dragging. How would I know if it’s the starter or not?

take the belts off and then start it, if the noise is gone then you know it was not the starter.
the only part spinning with the belts off is the harmonic balancer those can make noise but generally it is more of a consistent rubbing sound if it does

If you don't have the means to remove belts you can also just squirt a little water on the belts before starting to see if the noise goes away. How many miles on the belts? Normally I would suggest just a very small squirt of belt dressing but that stuff is messy. I would bet that @Doubeleive is correct though. How quick after the engine fires off does the noise go away? Does the squeak sound like metal on metal or something else?
