2016 Yukon lift gate issue

I have a 2016 Yukon, and I backed into a telephone pole, destroying my lift gate in the process. I bought one from a salvage yard that was from a 2015 Tahoe, which was in arguably better shape than mine. Installed it yesterday, but the power lock and lift doesn't work, along with the brake light. However, the glass opens fine. Talked to my buddy at the dealership and said it should be plug and play. Guy at the salvage yard is my friend and said the gate i bought worked just fine when they took it off, so I'm at a total loss as to why it doesn't work. Any ideas?
