The U-Haul trailer weighs about 3,155 pounds. They will not rent it to you if you tell them you are going to tow a Challenger with it.

You only get the different axle and probably cooling too with towing package or Z71. According to uhaul the trailer is 2,210lbs so you're probably right near your towing capacity with a Challenger on it.

@swathdiver quoted the trailer weight of the Flatbed Utility Trailer that was linked. There is a smaller Auto Transport that weighs 1K less than the one @ReaperHWK indicated.

Here's what the Auto Transport looks like:

Two very different trailers.

The one I want to use is their brand new one called the “toy hauler”. It’s larger and can even haul SUVs.

I don’t want to use the regular auto transport as a widebody challenger will barely fit as it’s wide. Don’t want to risk curbing a wheel or something.

This is the new trailer they have:

Uhaul trailers have 4 pin connector and surge brakes.

Every trailer i rented from them had 7 pin and elec brakes, unless you’re talking about tow dollys..

Nope the real trailer. I dunno what to say then, the ones I've used had 4 pin and surge brakes and it even notes it on their website. You can see the surge brake unit in the pictures of their trailers.

The tow dolly doesn't have brakes.

I rented a few uhual trailers including their largest box trailer. They had surge brakes and a 4 pin. That is why I asked the question originally about “where is my 4 pin?” I check the install directions as well for their new toy hauler it specifically says 4 pin only.

I always tow with my f150 but don’t want to this time for this trip. This is a 22hr round trip and my F150 is old and tired.

That's the one that weighs over 3,000lbs putting it above your tow rating.
You might want to make sure the fenders aren't too tall for the Challenger door to open, the car hauler fender folds down for clearance. The toy hauler seems to have 12" tall fenders, not sure what the Chsllenger widebody clearance is.

I doubt he’ll have to worry about that. What if you’re going to use the trailer to tow a vehicle you are going to buy and do not yet have any documents for it?

When i bought my Jeep Cherokee , i rented the U-Haul trailer to go pick it up. They did ask what kind of vehicle i was towing with, but not what i was loading on the trailer. Even if they did ask, i wouldn’t have been able to show proof because i hadn’t bought it yet.
When I went to make an online reservation for a car trailer, they asked what the tow vehicle was and what car I would be towing. That's where the approval or denial would come from.

So I chose a little Kia and changed my mind after picking up the trailer and put a truck on it! LOL

@ReaperHWK Just put as much stuff as you can in the race car or strapped to the trailer, keeping the Tahoe light and the rear of it empty to she won't sag. The surge brakes from the trailer work well when in good condition. Slow down and enjoy the run.

Please tell us about the race afterwards! I really can't do that stuff anymore and love to see what you guys are doing.

Yep I’ll check that clearance, thanks. I’m going to guess the doors would hit so I will get some foam or something there when I squeeze in/out.

A widebody is 79.2” wide, and uhual says the auto transport trailer(the old one) is 79” load width. I’m not gambling with that is why I’m stuck with the big one. The toy hauler says 102” load width. That would leave me with about a foot on each side of the car.

Is the better rear gear or the oil/trans cooler on here?

KC4, KNP, GU4. Is that saying I have both oil and trans cooler and the 3.08?

Yes I can do that.

Is it the way these trucks came even with the tow package not to have the 4 pin???
My '02 Z71 purchased new had the 7 pin to 4 pin adapter hiding in the rear cubby. I know that's decades ago, but take a look there or by your jack storage (?). Easy to purchase if needed.

Update. I talked to U-Haul and they won’t allow me to tow the challenger with my Tahoe because it’s over weight. They ask questions. I even called another place and said I was hauling 2 atv’s and they said the system won’t allow it with a Tahoe. So FYI this new toy hauler trailer they are pretty strict with.

So I do also own a 2006 f150 with way less HP and they put that in and told me I can tow the challenger with that! Weird.
