2015 Tahoe Liftgate issue

Hello!
recently our liftgate has started acting funny. It will open all the way and then close. Anyone know if this is a piston issue or is it electronic? Also does that service bulletin apply anymore or we have to pay out of pocket?

When it closes, does it close with the liftgate motor running? How long before it starts to close after opening? My guess is that your lift pistons may be at the end of their useful life and need to be replaced.
