I saw that on the news today, looked it up on the NHTSA. I'm wondering if I should take mine into the local dealer or just wait and see if I get a card in the mail saying to take it in. Also, how would I even know if they actually fix it if I'm not noticing any issues right now and am not getting an error message... Boo.

Just an FYI. I was in for an oil change this week, the only thing they mentioned and performed was a software update for the brakes.

Apparently the seal fails in the vacuum pump allowing oil to get past affecting brake booster... without looking it up exactly. I remember hearing about this about 2 yrs ago.

yeah I was at the dealer for a few days for other issue, they pre-formed a software update for the brake recall issue

Was at the dealer for an oil change, and the next day the recall hit. Great timing.

Was at a intersection on busy Alton Road. Was waiting at a red light when the car in front of me decided to make a right turn. I inched up to the red light when my Hoe took longer to stop then usual. Thankfully the Leo crossing the street was on his phone looking in the other direction so he never saw anything. It was close call. My heart was racing when that happened.

Gary, you could of whipped your phone out pulled up TYF real quick and said to him, ‘look officer.... i was just reading about a brake problem on my truck when I almost ran you over!’

Just took mine in this am for the recall. In and out in less than 40min. 4 or 5 lined up behind me for the same thing.

Am I correct assuming that unless you have a CEL or a problem that this recall is strictly a software update? (no other action taken) They are just updating the software for the backup system to kick in earlier at low speeds in case you have the issue later.

stopped by the dealer today. he looked up the vin on my 18 z71...no recall...

Went to the dealer yesterday...my 2018 Z71 is not on the recall list. He checked the VIN and said I was good to go
